Description :

Whole, green cardamom capsules with organically grown seeds.

The spice are the black or green seeds in the green capsules. So that they retain their aroma for a long time, the seeds are left in the capsules until they are used.

For use, lightly pestle the capsules and remove the seeds. Then continue to mortar, grind or leave the seeds whole. The aroma develops best when the seeds are briefly roasted without fat in a small pan.

The essential oils ensure a fresh, citrus-like scent reminiscent of eucalyptus. The taste is sweetish-spicy, slightly burning with notes of camphor and bitter oranges.

Cardamom stimulates, brightens the mood, makes coffee compatible and is considered an aphrodisiac.

Cardamom is suitable for Asian wok dishes, oriental stews with duck, chicken, pork or lamb as well as Scandinavian meat pies.
Cardamom is often used to refine game fish and seafood or to season carrots, pumpkins, rice dishes and aubergines.
In addition to main dishes, cardamom is also suitable for desserts, compotes, cakes, pastries and coffee, as well as spiced tea (chai).
During the Christmas season, cardamom is very popular for stollen, gingerbread and speculoos.

Particularly popular: with conventional ground coffee beans, mix a pinch of freshly ground cardamom with the coffee powder or add it directly to the finished coffee.
