Sariva Churna Premium, 100 g (Nimi Ayurveda)
Hemidesmus indicus (Sarsaparilla)
Food supplement Plant powder with secondary plant substances

Sariva – also known as Sarsaparilla – is found throughout India, where it has been traditionally used for thousands of years, such as in the Kerala region.

Sariva has a very pleasant taste and an enticing fragrance – making it an excellent spice for sweet dishes or drinks.
The taste of a tea (boiled with water) made from Sariva is very reminiscent of Rooibos tea. If the tea or decoction is too strong, Sariva can be mixed very well with coriander water.

An infusion of Sariva is often used as the basis for most external applications.
Sometimes pickled Sariva roots are served with rice as a meal.

In Ayurveda, Sariva belongs to the Rasayanas. It balances all three doshas, has a cooling effect and is sweet and slightly bitter in taste.

  • Dosha: Pitta and Vata reducing
  • Rasa: sweet, slightly bitter
  • Guna: heavy
  • Vipaka: sweet
  • Virya: cold
  • Stir 1 g powder (1 measuring spoon) into warm water twice daily and drink.
The daily intake of 2 g plant powder contains 2 g sariva powder.
